Now his dream has been fulfilled-the number of girl students is increasing day by day and in some streams they have outnumbered their other halves.With the passage of time Uluberia College, as an institution of higher studies imparting UG courses to all aspiring learners from diverse communities (minority- dominated) and economic background from rural areas, has prepared, modified and upgraded itself to meet the academic challenges and changing demands of the learners and society. He started the college with a handful of boys and girls, practically begging door to door for the girl students. Sri Ghoshal, the founder Principal of the college, wanted to start an educational institution for higher studies especially for the girls who had to discontinue their education after completion of their school studies as there was no college nearby. (well known for the Victrola brand of phonographs) in Camden New Jersey. RCA first started building radios with the RCA or RCA Victor name after the :'corporation purchased of the 'Victor' Co.
RCA also offered radios without a 'Radiola' model as well as other brand names, such as the well known model 'RC', made by Westinghouse. Uluberia College, the dream-child of an educationist and Headmaster of a local high school Sri Haripada Ghoshal, started its journey on 16th August, 1948. More on 'Radiola', RCA, RCA Victor and Victor Radio. section is one of the oldest centres in Howrah District and contribute significantly in Teachers' Training since its budding. Among Science subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany and Physiology departments draw a large number of students. English, Bengali, Political Science, Philosophy and History are taught in this college. The Humanities wing of this college is very strong.
Students intending to study the traditional courses come to the campus of Uluberia College every year. The institution has an impeccable academic record. Uluberia College occupies a place of pride in the annals of Higher Education in Howrah District of West Bengal.
